BANGOR, Maine — A New Jersey man will spend a year and a day in jail after he was sentenced on a weapons charge Wednesday, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.
Kevin Anderson, 46, was also ordered to serve three years of supervised release on an unlawful possession of firearms charge.
In July 2013, probation officers conducting a check at a Moose River residence found seven firearms in Anderson’s bedroom, which he was prohibited from possessing due to felony convictions of stalking, possession of a destructive device and possession of a sawed-off shotgun, all out of New Jersey.
Four of the guns were registered in New Jersey, and Anderson had purchased all the weapons in that state.
Anderson was sentenced by Justice John Woodcock, Jr. Anderson had pled guilty last September.
