WATERVILLE, Maine — Four people were arrested Thursday in connection with the distribution and dealing of crack cocaine and heroin between Massachusetts and Waterville, according to police.
Arrested were Domingues Cabral Jr., 26, and Kevin Pires, 25, both of Boston, and Hannah Maheau, 18, of Fairfield, Waterville Deputy Chief Charles Rumsey said.
Rumsey said a fourth suspect, a woman, also was arrested by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency. Her name was not immediately available.
During the course of the months-long investigation, police learned Cabral and Pires were suspected of accepting stolen products in exchange for heroin and crack cocaine, according to Rumsey.
On Thursday afternoon, police pulled over a vehicle with Massachusetts plates that contained Pires, Cabral and Maheau. When police searched the trio, they found multiple baggies of crack cocaine and heroin between Pires’ and Cabral’s buttocks and several baggies of marijuana and a baggie of heroin concealed in Maheau’s bra, the deputy chief said.
Pires also was in possession of $150 in cash and Cabral more than $1,500 cash.
In addition to nearly 1 ounce of heroin and crack with a combined street value of more than $11,000 and $1,600 in cash, items suspected to be stolen from area businesses, including clothing, a 32-inch LED TV and liquor, were found in the trunk of the car.
Cabral and Pires face two counts of aggravated drug trafficking. Maheau is accused of possession of a scheduled drug, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Rumsey said Cabral and Pires have prior drug convictions out of Massachusetts.
Bail was set at $300,000 surety for Cabral and Pires and $500 cash for Maheau.
