DAMARISCOTTA, Maine — Two young men were arrested on Friday in connection with numerous Lincoln County burglaries, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.

Cody Beal, 21, and Christopher Gove, 20, both of Damariscotta, are facing burglary charges, according to the statement.

Investigators had received information recently that Gove had burglarized a storage unit in Newcastle and stolen some coins, according to the statement. He admitted to the crime upon being interviewed by investigators.

Further information revealed that the pair had pawned a number of items at a Damariscotta pawn shop, and surveillance photos of the suspects cashing coins were revealed.

The suspects had primarily been stealing coins and jewelry, and the sheriff’s office believes the pair are responsible for 13 burglaries in Lincoln County.

The investigation is ongoing.
