PORTLAND, Maine — Superintendent of Schools Emmanuel Caulk is a finalist for a school chief job in another state, the Portland School Department announced Friday.
If confirmed, Caulk would leave Portland to become superintendent of the 40,000-student Lexington, Kentucky, public school system, according to a news release.
If he accepts the job, his departure date from Portland would be determined by Caulk and the school board.
Caulk was hired in 2012. His contract was unanimously extended through 2019 last November by the school board.
