WEST GARDINER, Maine — The Maine State Police arrested one man and charged another Tuesday in connection with a marijuana-growing operation in West Gardiner, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said Thursday.

Kristopher Brill, 37, of Farmingdale was charged with marijuana cultivation, McCausland said. He said that Brill, owner of the facility where medical marijuana is grown, was licensed to grow up to 18 plants but state police found nearly 80 plants growing.

Joseph Dunn, 37, of Belgrade, who was repairing equipment inside the facility when state police arrived to investigate, was arrested and charged with obstructing government administration because he was uncooperative with law enforcement officers, McCausland said.

He added that Dunn was taken to Kennebec County Jail.
