BANGOR — Bradley McLaughlin scattered five hits, struck out eight and didn’t walk a batter to lead Bangor West by Sebasticook 3-2 in a winners bracket clash in the District 3 Little League all-star baseball tourney for ages 11-12 Tuesday.

Matt Trueworthy recorded a double for Bangor West (3-0) and Bryce Lausier added an RBI single.

Nick Lovely was the tough-luck losing pitcher for Sebasticook (1-1) after allowing five hits and a walk while striking out 10. Andy Hopkins notched a double while Jordan Harthorne and Jacob Noyes each added an RBI single.

Bangor West advances to the winners bracket final and will host Hermon on Monday, July 13.

At Taylor Field in Bangor, the Bangor East all-stars scored four times in the second inning, five times in the fourth inning and then held on to beat in the District 3 tourney contest.

BELL used seven different pitchers. Keegan Cyr wound up as the winning pitcher. James Neel earned the save, stranding the tying run at third base in the sixth inning.

Cyr and Garrett Courtney each had three singles for Bangor East. Parker Noyes had a single, double and triple.

For Holbrook, Hunter Kimball and Jordan Moulton each had three singles.

Bangor East advances in District 3 play with a 1-1 record. Holbrook is eliminated at 1-2.

Machias 6, Calais 0

At Calais, Zaine Fitzsimmons, Cecil Gray and Kyle Anderson combined on a one-hitter to lead Machias by Calais in the District 1 tourney game.

Fitzsimmons struck out seven, Gray struck out five and Anderson struck out four.

Gabe Taylor and Keenan Feeney each doubled and drove in a run for Machias. Jayden Rhodes and Derek Maker each added two hits with Maker driving in two runs. Anderson added a triple and a single.

At Heddericg Field on Monday, Jack Corey pitched six shutout innings and Carter DeRedin came on in the seventh to earn the save as Brewer beat Post 51 of Oakland.

Corey allowed just four hits while not walking a batter and striking out two. DeRedin came on in the seventh with a runner on second and no outs to nail down the save. The pitchers were backed by a strong defense anchored by third baseman Kobe Rogerson, who made several spectacular plays.

Brewer scored its run in the first when Chase Allen singled and was plated by Matt Pushard’s double. Pushard, who was 3-for-3, also singled twice.

Post 51’s Cody Martin also gave up just four hits, walked one and struck out seven. Zach Mathieu doubled to lead off the seventh for Post 51. Trevor Gettig, Jake Dexter and Dan Pooler each singled.

Coffee News 11, Winslow 4

At Mansfield Stadium in Bangor, Tyler Parke recorded two singles and Nick Cowperthwaite added an RBI triple to help the Coffee News Cadets of Bangor prevail.

Noah Missbrenner, Kobe Smith and Zachary Cowperthwaite each added single. Zachary Cowperthwaite earned the pitching win.

Ben Smith and Andrew Rapaigue each singled twice for Winslow, with Smith driving in a run. Tommy Tibbetts added a single.
