SACO, Maine — Three people were arrested on Thursday as Saco police conducted a drug raid at a Portland Road cottage, according to Deputy Chief Jeffrey Holland.

Arrested were Kenny Burke, 34, of Arundel, Abdoul Aziz Mounian, 26, of Brooklyn, and Aleksei N. Legendre, 24, of Saco, Holland said Friday.

Saco police had launched an investigation into possible drug activity at the cottage after receiving a tip from Scarborough police, according to Holland.

On Thursday, undercover officers saw a man exit the residence and walk to a vehicle to make a suspected drug transaction, Holland said. Police stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver, Burke, the deputy chief said.

Approximately 0.6 grams of heroin were seized from Burke’s vehicle, along with needles used to inject drugs and cash, Holland said.

Thanks to witnessing the drug transaction, police had probable cause to perform a search warrant on the residence, and Mounian and Legendre were located and arrested, Holland said. Approximately 6.3 grams of heroin, drug packaging material, needles and cash were seized.

Burke was charged with unlawful drug possession while Mounian and Legendre were both charged with aggravated drug trafficking and taken to the York County Jail.
