PORTLAND, Maine — The Binghamton Mets used a four-run second inning to beat the Portland Sea Dogs 7-3 Friday night at Hadlock Field.

The Mets have won all seven games they’ve played at Hadlock Field in 2015 and nine in a row going back to last year’s Eastern Division Championship Series.

After Portland scored in the bottom of the first on an RBI single by Janzen Witte, Binghamton answered with four runs on six hits in the second inning off losing pitcher Justin Haley (3-10). Haley allowed six earned runs on 11 hits in 2-plus innings.

John Gant (3-4) picked up the win for the Mets, going six innings and allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits, walking three and striking out two.

Binghamton collected 18 hits in the game to set a single-game high this season. Gavin Cecchini went 4-for-5 with a triple, RBI, and two runs scored. Michael Conforto, Eudy Pina, and Josh Rodriguez each had three hits.

Witte finished 2-for-3 with an RBI, walk, and a run scored for Portland. Henry Ramos had an RBI triple.
