SAT classes
BANGOR — Maine Prep’s SAT preparation classes for Bangor area high school students will meet 6:30-8:30 p.m. Sundays, Aug. 2 through Sept. 27, at O’Donnell Commons on the Husson University campus, 1 University Circle. The teachers of the SAT class will be Dr. Frank Hubbard and Irene Haskins of Husson University.

These students from the Bangor area were awarded undergraduate degrees May 16-17 from the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, Rhode Island:
- Catherine Poirier of Winterport received a bachelor’s degree in theater, magna cum laude.
- Samantha Bedore of Glenburn received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, cum laude.
Western New England University
ORRINGTON — Thomas Cowin of Hampden received recently the Outstanding Full-time Student in International Business Award at the college honors ceremonies at Western New England University in Springfield, Massachusetts. He also graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in international business.
