DRESDEN, Maine — Two individuals were taken to the hospital Tuesday night after the car they were traveling in rolled over several times on Bog Road in Dresden.

Phillip Dumont, 26, of Belgrade was westbound on Bog Road in a 2004 Hyundai Elantra at a high rate of speed, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Lt. Rand Maker said.

Dumont lost control of the vehicle shortly after 9 p.m. The car rolled over several times before coming to a rest. Dumont was not wearing his safety belt and was ejected from the vehicle, Maker said.

Dumont and his passenger, Sabrina Marino, 25, of Dresden were taken to Lincoln County HealthCare-Miles Campus by the Gardiner Ambulance Service, Maker said. Marino was treated and released, a spokesperson from Miles said.

Dumont was taken from Miles to Maine Medical Center, where his status is currently listed as satisfactory, a spokesperson from Maine Medical Center said.

Alcohol may have been a factor in the accident and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate, Maker said.

The Dresden Fire Department also responded to the accident. The scene was cleared at approximately 10:30 p.m.
