WESTBROOK, Maine — A South Portland woman died and an Old Orchard Beach man was seriously injured Saturday in a motorcycle accident on Pride Street, police said Sunday.
Jennifer Lavigne, 35, was pronounced dead at Maine Medical Center in Portland following the accident, which occurred near 290 Pride St. around 8:35 p.m., said Sgt. Anthony Ciampi, a patrol supervisor.
Brenton Blais, 37, the motorcycle’s driver, was in surgery at Maine Medical Center. His condition was not immediately available. Ciampi was off duty and a spokeswoman at Maine Medical said she had no record of Blais at the hospital.
The Westbrook and Windham police departments have specialists reconstructing the accident.
