PORTLAND, Maine — Police on Monday arrested and charged a second man with murder and elevated aggravated assault in connection with a May 25 shooting at an Old Port recording studio.

Portland police said officers from various agencies arrested 30-year-old Gang Deng Majok on Monday afternoon on Factory Island in Saco. They did not indicate whether Majok is the last person suspected in connection with the May 25 incident that killed 19-year-old Treyjon Arsenault and wounded another man whose name police have not released.

Portland Police Chief Michael Sauschuck announced the first arrest in the case two weeks ago, when officers took 20-year-old Johnny Ouch into custody in Westbrook.

Police have said they believe the suspects and victims knew each other, but did not provide any additional information Monday about possible motives, what led to the shooting or what exactly led investigators to the suspects almost two months after the incident.

Authorities said in May that they believe seven to 11 people were in the studio at the time of the shooting, which took place during a recording session.

Police have not said whether Ouch or Majok were among those who had signed in at the recording studio that night.

Murder is punishable by 25 years to life in prison. The maximum sentence for elevated aggravated assault is 30 years in jail.
