MOSCOW, Maine — A local man is facing multiple charges, including four counts of burglary, in connection with a string of break-ins in Bingham, according to the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office.
Joshua Coldwell, 28, was arrested on Friday in a search warrant at his residence, according to Sheriff Dale Lancaster.
Coldwell is allegedly responsible for three burglaries at Valley High School and at Williams General Store, according to Lancaster.
Stolen out of the high school were an undisclosed amount of laptops while bottles of alcohol and cigarettes were taken from the general store, Lancaster said. The sheriff said Coldwell broke into the buildings via locked windows.
As he was being arrested, Coldwell admitted to police he committed the burglaries due to the need for money as he is unemployed. Six marijuana plants and drug paraphernalia were seized from the residence, along with items connected with the burglaries.
In addition to the burglaries, Coldwell is charged with cultivating marijuana and four counts of theft. He is being held at Somerset County Jail.
