AUGUSTA, Maine — A 38-year-old Augusta man was charged last week with terrorizing in connection with bomb threats made via Twitter to to the Augusta Wal-Mart and other locations, Augusta police said in a news release.
Troy Macdonald allegedly made the threats on June 17, 18 and 20, Deputy Chief Jared Mills said.
The June 17 bomb threat was directed at Wal-Mart. The next day, similar threats were made to Wal-Mart and other unspecified locations outside of Augusta, Mills said.
On June 20, Augusta police and Capitol police investigated a bomb threat at three locations within state-owned properties on State Street, he said.
A Maine State Police bomb detection dog was used to confirm there were no explosive devices in the area.
