Separate crashes claimed lives in Buckfield, Durham, Enfield, Fort Kent and New Sharon over the weekend, according to state police.
On Friday night, a man was killed when his motorcycle struck a deer in Enfield, according to Maine State Police spokesman Stephen McCausland.
William “Chris” Tozier, 50, who was from West Enfield but lived in Passadumkeag, died at about 9 a.m. when he crashed on Hammett Road in Enfield, a family member confirmed on Monday.
Tozier died while doing what he enjoyed — riding his motorcycle — according to his obituary.
A Fort Kent man died Sunday when his motorcycle collided with another motorcycle along Route 161 in Fort Kent, according to McCausland. Police haven’t released their identities.
On Saturday afternoon, a woman was killed in a single-car crash on Route 102 in Southwest Harbor.
In Buckfield, Nichole A. Byron, 30, of Hartford was killed after her car collided with a tractor-trailer Sunday at around 3:30 p.m., according to the Sun Journal.
In Durham, Beth L. Woodmancy, 52, of Brunswick crashed her motorcycle on Route 125, near the intersection of Pinkham Brook and Meadow roads. Police said she failed to negotiate a turn and struck a utility pole. She wasn’t wearing a helmet and was killed.
In New Sharon, a man on a motorcycle was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Route 27 after police tried to stop him.
