PORTLAND, Maine — A Texas man is heading to prison for 14 years after he was sentenced Monday on a charge of transporting child pornography, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

In addition to prison time, Steven Sawyer, 37, also received 10 years of supervised release. He pleaded guilty in March.

Sawyer was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Portland.

Court documents indicate Sawyer sent an email to undercover Homeland Security Investigations officials with a video of a young girl engaging in a sexually explicit act attached.

The email was sent out last October and the subsequent investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations.
