VEAZIE — A Clothing Swap to benefit the Bangor Humane Society will be held 4-6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at Qualey Granite and Quartz, 1506 State St. in Veazie.

Bring new and gently used clothing to swap for up to 10 new-to-you pieces. The cost to participate is a $20, tax-deductible donation to Bangor Humane Society. Each additional item is will cost $2 more. Nothing to swap? A $20 donation will admit participants to the event where they will find plenty of things available for purchase, organizers said.

The event also will include door prizes, sweet treats and a pop up boutique featuring Maine clothing designer FXDressed, owned by Jessi Sader, who grew up in Orono. Twenty percent of FXDressed sales from the event will be donated to the humane society.

If possible, event organizers would like to collect clothing before the event in order to make shopping at the swap a more pleasant and organized experience. Vouchers in exchange for donated clothing will be issued to be used at the swap. Clothing may be dropped off at Qualey Granite and Quartz.

All leftover fashions will be donated to women’s shelters and charities. Those who can’t make it to the swap, are asked to consider donating clothing to the event. Organizers will collect items from wishlists of the charities they are supporting, which will be listed at the event.
