PORTLAND, Maine — A local man faces up to 20 years behind bars after pleading guilty to a cocaine charge Thursday, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.
Samuel Collins, 46, will be sentenced on a charge of conspiring to distribute cocaine base at a later date. In addition to prison time, he faces a $1,000,000 fine.
According to court documents, Collins conspired with others to sell cocaine between December 2013 and January 2015 in Portland.
Members of the conspiracy subsequently arranged for out-of-state drug acquisitions, and once the drugs made their way back to Collins, he would sell them in the Portland area.
The Southern Maine Gang Task Force investigated the case.
