WATERVILLE, Maine — The principal at Waterville Senior High School is on paid administrative leave. Principal Don Reiter was put on leave last week and is being investigated by police.

Tuesday afternoon, inside his lawyer’s office in Portland, school officials explained to Reiter what someone has accused of him and why police got involved.

According to his lawyer, Reiter has been in the dark since Thursday about why he is being investigated. After learning the allegations against him, the principal was able to tell his side of the story to school officials.

His lawyer Gregg Frame said the accusations are untrue, but won’t give any information about what they are. Frame only said he expects the situation to wrap up quickly.

“In a dozen years of doing this I feel exceedingly confident that there is nothing in the allegation or Don’s response that would warrant anything less than a return to school, immediately,” Frame said.

If the principal is allowed back at school his lawyer said it’s likely he will have to work or be involved with his accuser. CBS 13 reached out to the district to see if officials plan to fill parents in on the situation, but has not received a response.
