CAMDEN, Maine — A local woman is behind bars after police say she broke into a car and a neighbor’s apartment and stole numerous items.
Sarah Havener, 30, was arrested Wednesday and charged with burglary, theft, burglary of a motor vehicle, possession of drugs, trafficking in prison contraband and violating a condition of bail, according to Camden police Detective Curt Andrick.
The break-ins occurred Friday and Saturday, Andrick said. Numerous electronic items, clothes, children’s toys, small household items and cosmetics were reported stolen, Andrick said. A search warrant was obtained by investigators, and many of the items were recovered from Havener’s home Wednesday, he said.
The car that was broken into was parked in the lot of the apartment complex where Havener and the alleged victim lived. Andrick did not say who owned the car.
The trafficking in contraband offense stems from drugs being found on Havener when she was taken to the Knox County Jail in Rockland, he reported.
Andrick said he believed drugs and alcohol played a part in Havener’s actions. One of the drugs found on her was Adderall, he said.
