EASTPORT, Maine — The death of a local man whose body was found Thursday night in a home on Clark Street remains under investigation, according to police.
The death is considered suspicious, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland indicated in a prepared statement released Friday.
An elderly man’s body was found about 10 p.m. Thursday by Eastport police, who had received a call requesting they check on the residence, McCausland said. The man’s body was taken to the state medical examiner’s office in Augusta where an autopsy was being performed Friday, he added.
The man’s identity has not been released. Detectives with Maine State Police were investigating the incident on Friday in Eastport, McCausland said.
Additional information about the incident was unavailable on Friday. Messages left with the Eastport Police Department were not returned.
