BANGOR, Maine — City police are looking into a recent rash of burglaries on Bangor’s east side, Sgt. Tim Cotton said in an email Thursday.
As of Thursday morning, approximately eight home burglaries occurred, mostly in the area of Howard Street, the sergeant said.
“We are increasing patrols on both the east and west side,” Cotton said.
In each case, entry has been made into residences when nobody was home, Cotton said. He declined to discuss what, if anything, was stolen from residences.
“If anyone sees anything suspicious, please call us to come check it out,” Cotton said. “That’s what we are here for. We are asking that people avoid confronting individuals but please do call us.”
No arrests have been made in connection to the burglaries.
Anyone who sees anything suspicious is urged to call Bangor police at 947-7384. The department’s tip line can be accessed by selecting ext. 6.
