WELLS, Maine — A Kennebunk man was arrested Saturday afternoon after Maine State Police troopers got a tip that he was in possession of a large amount of heroin.

Jason Alexander, 26, was stopped by police about 4 p.m. on Mile Road in Wells. Investigating troopers found he had about 30 grams of suspected heroin and a small amount of suspected crack cocaine, according to a press release from the Maine State Police.

Alexander was arrested and charged with aggravated trafficking in heroin, a Schedule W drug, and was taken to the York County Jail. His bail has been set at $10,000 cash, and he will make his first court appearance on Oct. 28 in York County Superior Court.

Sgt. Jeremy Forbes and Maine State Police troopers David Coflesky and Michael Lane were the investigating officers.
