ROCKLAND, Maine — A lawsuit has been filed on behalf of a Warren teenager who asserts he was severely injured when he fell nearly seven years ago on ice at a Rockland car wash.
The lawsuit on behalf of Robert Colpritt was filed Monday in Knox County Unified Court against Park Street Car Wash.
Colpritt, who is represented by attorney William Herbert of Lewiston, states in the suit that he was at the car wash in November 2008 when he slipped on ice that had accumulated. The car wash was negligent, the lawsuit claims, for not having removed the ice.
Herbert said Colpritt’s injuries were devastating and have left him with some permanent impairment.
The attorney said normally there is a six-year statute of limitation on filing a civil lawsuit but that there are exceptions allowed. In this case, the exception is that Colpritt was a juvenile until this year, and he decided to pursue the matter when he turned 18.
