ORONO, Maine — Freshman striker Anetra Byfield took a long Vivien Beil pass, raced down the right flank and scored from close range with 2:32 remaining in the first overtime on Sunday afternoon, lifting the University of Maine to a 1-0 America East women’s soccer victory over UMass Lowell at Mahaney Diamond.
Claudia Dube-Trempe made four saves on six shots for the Black Bears (6-4-1 overall, 1-0-1 AE).
Julia Schneider made nine stops on 14 shots for the River Hawks (3-9, 0-2 AE).

At Bangor on Sunday, Katey Curtis and Leah Hibbad scored two goals each as the Eagles blanked the Hornets.
Ali Boulier posted a goal and an assist for Husson (5-5-1, 2-2 NAC), while Hannah Clough added a goal. Sydney Costa and Maddie Page posted assists. Kayla Gordon and Jordyn Hopkins combined for one save.
Johanna Sargent tallied 10 saves for Lyndon State (1-7-1, 0-4 NAC).

At Bangor on Sunday, goals by Leah Hibbad, Alison Boulier and Brooke LaBelle in the first 29 minutes sent Husson on its way to victory, its 16th straight over Johnson State.
LaBelle scored her second goal later in the game with Sydney Costa, Meghan Catanese and Katey Curtis adding the others. Costa and Maddie Page had assists and Kayla Gordon and Jordyn Hopkins combined for five saves on seven shots.
Kaitlin Boucher scored for the Hornets and Nichole Weeks made 16 saves on 34 shots.
UMFK 6, Bates 2
At Lewiston on Sunday, senior striker Katherine Ferland scored four goals as the University of Maine-Fort Kent improved to 13-2.
Catherine Bruno and Kayla Richards had the other goals for the Bengals with Yosselin Berrueco picking up two assists and Veronica De La Cruz notching one. Michelle Delgadillo made 13 saves on 26 shots.
Olivia Amdur and Karen Lockhart scored for 4-3-2 Bates with Maggie Coco and Ana Urbina collecting assists. Sarah McCarthy and Allegra Sacco combined for nine saves on 19 shots.
NEC 3, UMF 2 (2 OT)
At Henniker, New Hampshire, Rachel Thomas scored in the second overtime off a Tara Bainbridge assist to give New England College its win over the University of Maine-Farmington.
Lydia Roy had a goal and an assist on Ashley Gleason’s goal as UMF built a 2-0 lead. But late second-half goals 12:20 apart by Bainbridge and Jaycie Triandafilou tied it.
Mackenzie Meegan made nine saves for 6-7-1 NEC and Sam Hatch made 13 for 2-7-1 UMF.

At New London, New Hampshire, Kelsey Campbell scored two goals and Lizzie Jorgensen netted one in Saturday’s North Atlantic Conference win over the University of Maine-Farmington.
Karley Hamilton and Oona Bond combined for one save for the Chargers (4-2-2, 3-0 NAC).
Sam Hatch and Kiana Thompson teamed up to make 10 saves for the Beavers (2-6-1, 0-2-1 NAC).

At Fort Kent on Saturday, the Bengals sent their seniors out on a high note as they won their final home game of the season, beating Albany College of Pharmacy.
Marie-Laurence Montagne led the way with two goals and two assists while Yosselin Burrueco and Alex Beauchesne each tallied two goals and an assist. Katherine Ferland and Veronica De La Cruz posted a goal and an assist each.
Tiffany Anderson added a goal.
Erin Tersegno scored for ACOP.

At Castine on Sunday, Emily Wyman scored both goals as the Mariners shut out the Eagles.
Makayla Lewis and Morgan Libby contributed assists for Maine Maritime Academy (4-5-1, 2-2-1 NAC). Maggie McConkey made three saves.
Nichole Weeks made 10 saves for Johnson State.

At Castine on Saturday, Makayla Lewis scored two goals and Maggie McConkey made three saves as Maine Maritime Academy topped Lyndon State.
Briana Obshatkin also scored off a Miranda McIntire assist and the final goal was a Lyndon State own goal.
Johanna Sargent made 12 saves for Lyndon State.

At Henniker, N.H., Paige Leary made 21 saves and Cassie Contigiani and Camille Filloramo scored second-half goals as Thomas rallied past New England College.
Rachel Thomas scored in the first half for NEC and Mackenzie Meegan made four stops.

At Bangor on Saturday, Libby Kain scored with four minutes left in the first overtime to supply Husson with a win.
Hannah Jordan passed to Kain, who beat Patty Smith. Anne Marie Provencal made one save on six shots for the Eagles (3-5, 2-0 North Atlantic Conference).
Smith finished with 21 saves on 35 shots for UMF (5-2, 1-1 NAC).
Women’s Ice Hockey
Boston University 4, Maine 2
At Alfond Arena in Orono on Sunday, Sammy Davis’ power-play goal with just 3:04 left in regulation snapped a 2-2 tie and gave No. 8 Boston University a come-from-behind win over Maine.
Rebecca Leslie added an empty-net goal for the Terriers (2-0, 2-0 HE).
Audra Richards and Emilie Brigham staked Maine (1-1, 1-1 HE) to a 2-0 lead but Davis and Rebecca Russo tied it with second-period goals.
Victoria Hanson came on in relief of Erin O’Neil and stopped all 14 shots she faced. O’Neil had four saves on six shots.
Meghann Treacy finished with 39 saves for Maine.
Russo and Leslie had assists to go with their goals and Morgan Sakundiak had an assist for Maine.

Husson 3, Lyndon State 0
At Bangor on Sunday, Phil Frost’s 50th career goal proved to be the game-winner as Husson beat Lyndon State.
Frost assisted on a Josh Bellomo goal in the 59th minute for the Eagles (6-3, 3-1 NAC). Miguel Caballero scoring on an assist by Bellomo and Cody Gross made three saves.
Matt LaClair recorded eight saves in the loss for the Hornets.
MMA 11, Johnson State 0
At Castine on Sunday, Kyle Haslam, Chris Gilman and Alex Blackwell scored two goals apiece as the Mariners beat the Badgers.
Tom Sampson (assist), Matt Leblanc and Jack Weeks added a goal apiece and Bryan Soucy had two assists. Joshua Reeks made two saves.
Sean Springer stopped 11 shots for Johnson State.

At Bangor on Saturday, Jimmy Fitzpatrick, Brady White and Mike Curtis staked Husson to a 3-0 lead and the Eagles (5-3, 2-1 NAC) went on to win.
Cam Libbey, Stephen Berenyi, Dylan Wetmore and Josh Bean had assists for Husson and Steve Paquette made three saves on 11 shots.
Akeem Pottinger scored for Johnson State (2-7, 1-3) and Alex Pakatar made 13 saves on 34 shots.

At Henniker, New Hampshire, Michael Skarbelis’ second-half hat trick paced the Pilgrims to victory.

Matt Wilson had five stops for UMaine-Farmington (3-4-1, 1-1-1 NAC).

At Castine on Saturday, Tristan Richards scored twice as Maine Maritime Academy beat Lyndon State.
Henry Hersey added a goal and Joshua Reeks made four saves for the Mariners (2-6-1, 1-1-1 NAC).
Lyndon State received a goal from Joshua Thibault and six saves from Matt LaClair.

At Machias on Saturday, Jairo Castillo scored twice during a span of 6 ½ minutes in the second half to spark the Clippers to a come-from-behind victory.
Everett Senetar scored the game-winner with 23 minutes left for the University of Maine-Machias.
Sean Jackson scored twice for Southern Maine Community College of South Portland.
