BANGOR, Maine — An Oakland man waived indictment and pleaded guilty Thursday in U.S. District Court to one count of possession of child pornography, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.
Daniel Lajoie Jr., 46, will be held without bail until he is sentenced.
A sentencing date had not been set. He had been free on $10,000 unsecured bail.
By pleading guilty, Lajoie admitted that between April 29 and June 3, 2012, he shared videos of child pornography with an undercover federal agent, according to a press release issued by the U.S. attorney’s office.
More than 50 images and 110 videos of child pornography, including 18 of a child being sexually abused, were found on Lajoie’s computer, after his arrest in April in Bowdoinham, where he was living at the time, according to a previously published report.
He faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
The investigation was conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations and the Maine State Police Computer Crimes Task Force.
