BURLINGTON, Vermont — Caitie Green scored two first-half goals in a span of about a minute to lift the Vermont Catamounts to a 2-1 women’s soccer victory over the Maine Black Bears in America East women’s soccer action Thursday.

Green headed in the first goal at 11:08 via a long pass from Sarah Martin and then converted on a through pass from Annie Monaghan at the 12:29 mark.

Vivien Bell put the Bears on the board with 4:05 left in the game when she beat a defender and sent a hard shot to the far post.

Vermont outshot Maine 17-13 with Claudia Dube-Trempe making seven saves for the Black Bears (6-5-1 overall, 1-1-1 America East) while Ally Ramos finished with six for the Catamounts (6-5-1, 3-1-0).

Men’s Soccer

UMFK 8, Fisher 1

At Medford, Massachusetts, the UMaine-Fort Kent Bengals scored four goals in each half to roll by Fisher.

Ross Downie, Ben Kluvers and Willie Monthe each scored two goals to pace UMFK. Milton Christopher and Kyle Robin each added a goal for the Bengals.
