CAMDEN, Maine — A 28-year-old Otisfield man is being held without bail at the Knox County Jail in Rockland after his arrest on charges of sexual assault against a child.
Nicholas Emerson was arrested Saturday morning and brought to the Knox County Jail and charged with one count of gross sexual assault and five counts of unlawful sexual contact.
The victim was younger than 12 years old and the offenses occurred about two weeks ago, said Camden police Detective Curt Andrick. Camden investigated the case after the victim came forward, he said.
Maine State Police arrested Emerson at his home and then transferred him to Camden police.
Emerson is scheduled to make his initial court appearance Wednesday afternoon in Knox County Unified Court.
