ELLSWORTH, Maine — A local teenager is facing a drug charge after he brought cookies laced with marijuana to Ellsworth High School, according to Ellsworth police.

The 17-year-old boy, who police did not publicly identify because he is a juvenile, is believed to have sold at least one of the cookies to another student, Ellsworth police said Friday in a prepared statement.

The boy was charged on Oct. 10 with aggravated trafficking in a schedule Z drug, police said in the release.

The case, which police developed after receiving a complaint about drug activity at the school, remains under investigation.
