Janae Libby’s unassisted goal at the 55:14 mark gave the University of Maine-Presque Isle a 3-2 women’s soccer win over Wheelock on Sunday in Boston after Fisher had beaten UMPI 8-2 on Saturday in Medford, Mass.

Bethany Heald and Jessy Dickison each scored first-half goals for UMPI, but Wheelock responded with two goals from Courtney Adams.

Allie Lopez made six saves for UMPI and Fisher’s Amarielis Morales had six and Madeline Demers had one.

On Sunday, Julia Schogan scored three goals and Ashley De Sousa added two to power Fisher by UMPI.

Mikaelah Tracy and Autumn Poulin each scored for UMPI and Lopez made 11 saves. Paige Ciavarro had five saves for Fisher.

MMA 1, NEC 0

At Henniker, N.H., Makayla Lewis’ team-leading eighth goal of the season, coming nine minutes into the first overtime period, gave Maine Maritime Academy its win over New England College on Saturday.

Emily Wyman’s pass set up the goal by Lewis, which improved MMA’s record to 7-6-1 overall and 4-1-1 in the North Atlantic Conference.

Maggie McConkey made three saves in posting her sixth shutout of the season while Mackenzie Meegan had five saves for the Pilgrims, who are now 8-8-1 and 5-3 in the NAC.

Binghamton 2, Maine 0

At Orono on Sunday, Binghamton knocked off the Black Bears after scoring a goal in each half.

Katherine Corcoran scored the first goal when she curved a direct corner kick into the Maine net at the 26th minute and sealed the win at 86:23 when Leighann Bennett scored off an assist from Hannah Shankman.

Maine (8-6-1 overall, 3-2-1 America East) outshot Binghamton (2-11-2, 1-4-1) 20-15 with Binghamton’s Katie Hatziyianis making eight saves and Maine’s Claudia Dube-Trempe making seven.

Husson 1, Thomas 0

At Waterville on Saturday, Katey Curtis scored off a breakaway at the 84th minute to lift the Eagles of Bangor to victory.

Hannah Clough set up Curtis with a through pass. Kayla Gordon finished with four saves on 10 shots for Husson (6-7-1, 3-3 NAC) and Paige Leary had 13 saves on 14 shots for Thomas (6-8, 3-4).

UMFK 5, Lyndon State 0

At Lyndon Center, Vermont, on Saturday, Catherine Bruno scored a first-half goal for UMaine-Fort Kent and then the Bengals went on to score four in the second half, two by Yosselin Berrueco, to improve to 16-2.

Veronica De La Cruz and Katherine Ferland each added a goal for UMFK.

Johanna Sargent made 14 saves for Lyndon (1-11-1).

Bowdoin 1, UMF 0

At Farmington on Sunday, Maggie Godley’s goal at the 18th minute lifted the Polar Bears of Brunswick by UMaine-Farmington.

The Polar Bears were on the attack as Brigit Bergin lined a shot on goal but UMF goalie Kiana Thompson was able to deflect it away. As the Beavers tried to clear it, Godley was able to come away with the ball and booted in the goal.

Thompson finished with 17 saves for UMF (5-9-1) and Rachel Stout had one for Bowdoin (7-4-1).

Men’s soccer

NEC 3, MMA 0

At Henniker, N.H., Michael Skarbelis scored one goal and assisted on another and Tenzin Khenrab made four saves as New England College shut out MMA on Saturday.

Ronsard Masamba broke a scoreless tie with a penalty kick in the 35th minutes and, just over a minute later, Sina Samali extended the lead to 2-0 by converting a Skarbelis pass.

Skarbelis added a second-half goal for NEC, which is 11-6 overall and 5-3 in the NAC.

Joshua Reeks made seven saves for MMA, which fell to 3-9-1 and 2-3-1.

Thomas 3, Husson 2

At Waterville on Saturday, down 2-0 with 10 minutes to play, the Terriers scored three times in a five-minute span to post the victory.

Freshman Josh Emard scored the game-winner for Thomas (10-4, 6-1 NAC) with 2:14 to play off an assist from Tre Ming.

Phil Frost scored both goals for Husson (7-4-1, 4-2), the first on a Stephen Berenyi assist at the 28th minute and the second via a header on a throw-in from Josh Bean six minutes into the second half.

Thomas rallied with two goals from Adam LaBrie, with assists from Ming and London Steede-Jackson.

Daniel Webster 1, UMF 0

At Nashua, New Hampshire, on Saturday, Marcus Vieira Fiho’s goal from an Ian Hutchinson pass at the 59th minute gave Daniel Webster the winning edge.

Matt Wilson finished with 13 saves for UMF (4-8-2) and Cooper Hall had three for Daniel Webster (12-3).

UMPI splits

Cody Blair and Chris Daly each scored two goals to lead UMaine-Presque Isle by Wheelock 6-2 on Sunday in Boston after Fisher beat UMPI 6-1 on Saturday in Medford, Mass.

Dan Swallow and Johnny Theriault each chipped in with a goal for UMPI (3-12-1) on Sunday while Kelzy Rodrigues and Antonio Chavderov each scored for Wheelock (0-10).

Caleb Bragg-Grady made two saves for UMPI and Jordan Bernard had 19 for Wheelock.

On Saturday, Fisher jumped out to a 2-0 first-half lead and added four more goals, two by Tyler Gahara, to roll by the Owls.

Derek Healy scored for UMPI while Bragg-Grady had 14 saves and Matthew Manter had three.

Women’s Ice Hockey

Boston College 4, Maine 0

At Chestnut Hill, Mass., on Saturday, Haley Skarupa scored a pair of goals and Katie Burt made 17 saves as No. 2 Boston College blanked Maine.

Meghan Grieves and Alex Carpenter each had a goal and Kristyn Capizzano had two assists for BC, which improved to 5-0 and 1-0 in Hockey East.

Meghann Treacy had 48 saves for Maine, which is now 1-4 and 1-2.

Field Hockey

Husson splits

The Husson University Eagles are now 6-7 overall and 4-0 in the North Atlantic Conference after beating league foe Castleton 4-1 Saturday and losing 5-0 to Middlebury Sunday in games in Vermont.

Hanna Jordan, Libby Kain and Mikayla Toth each scored a first-half goal for Husson in Saturday’s game while Elizabeth Terry added another in the second half.

Meeghan Doris made 14 saves for Castleton (4-9, 1-3) while Kaitlin Dolloff had five for Husson.

On Sunday, Middlebury scored four first-half goals to roll by the Eagles. Pam Schulman, Annie Leonard, Bridget Instrum and Shannon Hutteman each scored in the first half and Carson Peacock added one in the second half.

Anne-Marie Provencal finished with 10 saves for Husson.

UMF 6, Colby-Sawyer 3

At New London, New Hampshire, on Saturday Emmah Spahr scored three goals to record a hat trick to help UMaine Farmington improve to 8-3 overall and 3-1 in the NAC.

Lindsey Whitney added two goals for UMF and Andrea Stemm added one.

Jordan Teixeira scored two goals for Colby-Sawyer and Page Viens had one.

Patty Smith finished with four saves for UMF and Jodi Dumayne had seven for Colby-Sawyer.
