SANFORD, Maine — A Springvale man has been arrested in connection with the robbery of a 7-Eleven in Springvale over the weekend, police said.

Keith Hammonds, 27, was arrested Tuesday night in Belgrade by Sanford police and Kennebec County sheriff’s deputies, according to a statement from Sanford police.

A warrant for Hammonds’ arrest had been issued earlier Tuesday afternoon, and he is facing a robbery charge, according to the statement.

Hammonds is accused of robbing the Springvale 7-Eleven on Sunday night with a knife, and he fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

Hammonds had been staying with family in Belgrade at the time of his arrest. He was brought to the Kennebec County Jail, where bail was set at $2,000.
