BANGOR, Maine — A group of window washers working at Eastern Maine Medical Center got into the Halloween spirit Friday and made many children smile.

Joel Crabtree, a spokesman for EMMC, said four window washers dressed up as superheroes and hung out with patients in the hospital Friday morning.

Crabtree said the workers were dressed as Spider-Man, Captain America, The Incredible Hulk and Superman.

The spokesman added the worker dressed as Spider-Man “did what Spider-Man does,” rappelling down the side of the building after cleaning windows.

The window washers work for Cleanup Group NE of Winthrop. Business owner Fred Moses said the workers clean at EMMC a couple of times per year, and with Halloween around the corner, it provided an opportune time for them to channel comic book heroes.

“Afterwards we went and said ‘hi’ to a couple kids to brighten their day,” Moses said.
