WATERVILLE, Maine — A man allegedly responsible for robbing the Rite Aid on Main Street on Thursday was found dead on Friday afternoon, Waterville Police Chief Joseph Massey announced Friday.
The man, Nathan Boulette, 22, was found dead shortly after noon at his residence as police executed a search warrant, according to Massey.
Police determined Boulette was the suspect based on surveillance video footage of him and his vehicle, Massey said.
Boulette had robbed the pharmacy with a knife shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday, and police located a Ford Taurus matching the one Boulette escaped in on Thursday night at a Main Street apartment building.
Boulette was found dead wearing some of the same clothes he wore during the robbery, while the knife was also found on his person, along with a pill bottle similar to one taken in the robbery, Massey explained.
A cause of death has not been determined and police will not comment further until an autopsy is conducted by the medical examiner’s office.
“This was great police work by Waterville detectives and patrol officers to quickly bring this armed robbery to a successful conclusion,” Massey said.
