WATERVILLE, Maine — Waterville High School Principal Don Reiter is accused of having an “inappropriate interaction” with a student, according to school officials.

At a public hearing Tuesday night, an attorney for the school said that “Reiter asked a female student to have sex with him.”

Reiter continues to deny all allegations made against him. He was placed on paid administrative leave just a few days after the start of the school year.

The school and Waterville police have conducted separate investigations. Last month, the superintendent also made a recommendation to the school board to dismiss Reiter from his position.

The hearing will continue at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
