ROCKLAND, Maine — Rockland fire and emergency medical personnel rescued a woman who fell late Tuesday afternoon during a walk to to the Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse.
The woman, whose name was not released, fell about halfway along the mile-long breakwater between the lighthouse and the mainland, said Lt. Jamie Leo of the Rockland Fire Department.
Leo said it took rescuers about half an hour to reach the woman on foot and carry her back to an ambulance.
The woman, who suffered minor injuries, was taken the Pen Bay Medical Center for treatment.
