BUXTON, Maine — Erratic, careless and negligent are some of the words investigators are using to describe the way a driver operated a vehicle in a crash that killed a Bonny Eagle High School student.
Buxton Police Chief Michael Grovo says even though they submitted a crash report to Maine State Police, the investigation is far from over, but the report does shed light into what led to the crash that killed 16-year-old Angel Greene.
An illustration, included in the report, shows the vehicle, driven by Edward Estey, traveling down Turkey Lane in Buxton.
The report says Estey lost control, went off the road, hit a utility pole and then hit some trees. The car began rolling over, ejecting Greene who was seated behind the driver.
According to the report, she did have on a seatbelt and so did everyone else in the car.
Grovo says there are still more questions to be answered.
“I met with the York County District Attorney this morning. And we’ve agreed that I’m not going to release any more information other than what’s out there, because we still have evidence that’s being processed. And we still have a lot of information left yet to get,” Grovo said.
The driver’s blood alcohol test results are pending. The chief says once the investigation is complete he will meet with the York County DA.
The district attorney will decide what, if any, charges will be filed in this crash.
