AUGUSTA, Maine — A Sidney man was killed Monday night when he lost control of his motorcycle on Hidden Haven Lane, according to police.

Speed may have been a factor in the crash that claimed the life of Jacob Dufresne, 26, according to Augusta Deputy Police Chief Jared Mills.

Dufresne was alone on the bike, and no other vehicles were involved, according to Mills. He was wearing a helmet.

The crash remains under investigation.
