YORK, Maine — Officers in York County say they’ve caught the people behind an attempted purse snatching in York Monday afternoon that was caught on camera.
York police say a 68-year-old woman was walking on Long Beach Avenue when a man came up behind her and tried to grab her purse. In the video, the man knocks her to the ground, but didn’t get the purse.
Police say the man seen in the video is 19-year-old Jeremy Jewell. Police say about an hour later, Jewell and three women worked together to rob a store in Wells; all four are charged with robbery. The women are 21-year-old Natausha Deroche, 19-year-old Alea Webster and 25-year-old Brittany Washburn.
