MATTAWAMKEAG, Maine — Drug agents on Tuesday responded to the 51st reported methamphetamine incident in the state in 2015 in Mattawamkeag, according to Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland.

Tuesday’s response marks the seventh such response in the last two weeks, according to McCausland.

Drug agents were called to a wooded area behind a cemetery on Hathaway Road and items consistent with meth manufacturing were found discarded there, McCausland said.

Lincoln police officers had discovered the site and notified drug agents.

There were 37 reported meth lab incidents in 2014 compared to the 51 that have been reported this year.

No one has been charged in connection with the Mattawamkeag incident.
