BANGOR, Maine — Three of the five people arrested in a heroin bust in September at an Essex Street residence were indicted Wednesday by the Penobscot County grand jury on drug charges.
Dionhaywood Blackwell, 31, of New Haven, Connecticut, was indicted on six counts of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, two counts of criminal forfeiture of a firearm and one count of criminal forfeiture of U.S. currency.
Vincent Berube, 50, and William E. Berube, 48, both of Baileyville, were indicted on one count each of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs and unlawful possession of drugs.
The three men were arrested Sept. 10 when Bangor police and agents with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency executed a search warrant at a home owned by Daniel Lyons, 41, and Laura Lyons, 29, both of Bangor, according to a previously published report.
Agents seized 30 grams of heroin, $12,000 in cash and a sawed-off shotgun, according to the MDEA.
The Lyonses, who are married and own the Essex Street house, were charged with unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs in September but were not indicted Wednesday.
If convicted, Blackwell faces up to 30 years in prison. The other four face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
