ALFRED, Maine — State police are searching for a green or teal pickup truck in connection with a Nov. 21 hit-and-run crash that severely injured a man in Alfred.

An anonymous caller reported the crash. While investigating the hit-and-run, Maine State Police troopers found a large group of young adults holding a party about a mile away along the dirt road, Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said at the time.

Troopers have interviewed nearly two dozen people who attended an outdoor party that night a short distance from where John Caramihalis was struck on a dirt portion of Kennebunk Road at about 2:45 a.m. Nov. 21, McCausland said.

Police continue to search for the driver and the vehicle that struck Caramihalis, McCausland said.

The early 1990s-era Chevrolet pickup truck with a short bed may have a hood that is painted black or another color different from the color of the truck.

Anyone with information can call state police at 657-3030.
