ROCKLAND, Maine — Police are monitoring websites and notifying local pawn shops in its investigation of $6,500 in equipment reported stolen from the car of a local photographer.

The photographer, Jesse Gifford Stuart, reported the theft Nov. 24 and told police he had last seen the equipment in his car the night before.

The most expensive piece of equipment reported stolen was a Canon EOS 5D Mark II, worth $2,500, according to Rockland police Detective Sgt. Russell Thompson.

The department is monitoring websites for anyone trying to sell the items and has contacted local pawn shops to be on the lookout.

The department has acquired serial numbers from Gifford Stuart so they can be checked against any items that may be recovered.
