AUGUSTA, Maine — A woman has been arrested in connection with a string of Kennebec County burglaries that had been reported over the summer, according to the sheriff’s department.
Meagan Emery, 22, of China is facing five charges of burglary and five charges of theft, according to Interim Sheriff Ryan Reardon.
The alleged burglaries occurred in the towns of Sidney, Chelsea, Vassalboro and China, according to Reardon. Each incident occurred during daylight hours.
Among items stolen were money, firearms and other valuables worth an estimated $29,000, Reardon said. Augusta and state police assisted the sheriff’s office in identifying Emery as a suspect.
Emery had admitted to stealing the items to support a heroin addiction, Reardon said.
