OLD TOWN — The Old Town Recreation Center has partnered with former collegiate baseball coach Dean Husted to offer a pitching clinic. Husted has worked with more than 50 players who have been drafted to play Major League Baseball including most recently Charlie Morton of the Pittsburgh Pirates.The pitching clinic will be held 5:30-6:30 p.m. Sundays, through Dec. 20, Old Town Recreation Center. Cost is $55. The Old Town Recreation Baseball coaching staff will also be on hand to assist. Space is limited to only 10 pitchers to optimize the instruction they will receive. BASKETBALL

BANGOR — The Bangor Parks and Recreation Department is accepting registrations for its 2015-2016 Youth Basketball Program. This eight-week program is open to all children in grades two-three and four-six, with separate boys and girls leagues. Teams will practice one evening per week and play their games on Saturdays, starting the week of Dec. 19 with a meet and greet on Dec. 5. The fee is $45 for residents and $55 for non-residents. GOLF

A fundraising event for First Tee of Maine will be underway at Uno’s restaurants in South Portland and Bangor on Dec. 13 when both restaurants will be donating 20 percent of guests’ checks to the organization. The funds are put toward First Tee scholarships, equipment and toward creating more opportunities for kids through golf.

ICE HOCKEY

ORONO — Domino’s Pizza presents the the Friends of Maine Hockey’s annual “Skate with the Bears” on Saturday, Dec. 12. Join the 2015-2016 University of Maine Men’s and Women’s Ice Hockey teams on the ice at the Alfond Arena from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. This family event is a great opportunity for fans of all ages to meet the players and have their pictures taken. Pick up a free player autograph sheet and gather as many autographs as you can. Friends of Maine Hockey board members will be on hand to answer your questions, sign up new members and will have Boxes of Player Cards available. Domino’s will provide free pizza while hot cocoa, coffee and donuts will be provided by your local Dunkin’ Donuts. This event is free and open to the public. So tie up your skates, grab a camera and come Skate with the Bears!

BREWER — Brewer Youth Hockey’s Learn To Skate/Learn To Play hockey program’s second session starts Jan. 17. Go to brewerhockey.org to register. DOVER-FOXCROFT — Fourth annual 5K Reindeer Run/Walk, 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, in front of Foxcroft Academy. ORONO — The University of Maine Softball will hold a Winter Prospect Camp for grades 9-12, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Feb. 20, at UMaine.
