SWANVILLE, Maine — A man who lost control of his Jeep Monday morning on the frost-covered North Searsport Road had to be freed from the wreckage by firefighters.
Christian Watkins, 23, whose hometown was not immediately available, had been heading north a little before 9:30 a.m. when he veered off the road and struck a tree with his 1993 Jeep Cherokee, according to a press release from the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office.
Watkins was pinned in the vehicle and needed to be extricated from it by the Belfast Fire Department.
A crew from the Belfast Ambulance took him to the hospital to be treated for his injuries, which were not considered life-threatening, according to police. The vehicle was destroyed.
