BRUNSWICK, Maine — A 19-year-old Brunswick man has been indicted on seven charges including eluding an officer, a Class C felony, after allegedly stealing a pickup truck from a Brunswick restaurant and leading police on a high-speed chase before he was arrested at gunpoint on Nov. 3.

Tyler Ciciotte also faces misdemeanor charges of violating condition of release, operating after license suspension, driving to endanger, criminal speed, reckless conduct and unauthorized use of property, Cumberland County District Attorney Stephanie Anderson announced Monday.

Ciciotte was arrested early in the morning on Nov. 3 in a doorway on Elm Street in Topsham.

Brunswick police were called at 11:56 p.m. the previous night to Papa John’s on Bath Road in Brunswick after a man reported that his 2013 Ford pickup truck was stolen when he left it running to go into the restaurant, Brunswick Police Cmdr. Marc Hagan said at the time.

Officers recognized the truck on Bath Road and attempted to stop it but the driver, later allegedly identified as Ciciotte, sped away, leading police on a chase along Maine Street in Brunswick, over the Androscoggin River to Main Street in Topsham, and up Elm Street.

Ciciotte then allegedly fled on foot. Police approached the truck with guns drawn, Hagan said, and two passengers surrendered. Ciciotte was allegedly found in a doorway a couple of houses away and taken to Cumberland County Jail.
