BANGOR — The Bangor Parks and Recreation Department is accepting registrations for its 2015-2016 Youth Basketball Program. This eight-week program is open to all children in grades two-three and four-six, with separate boys and girls leagues. ROCKLAND — The Rockland Elks Club will host its annual local Hoop Shoot Contest at 3:30 p.m. Saturday Dec. 19, at the Rockland Recreation Center. Boys and Girls ages 8-13 are invited to participate. SIDNEY — Maine Pond Hockey Classic, Feb. 12-14, 2016, at Snow Pond Center for the Arts on Snow Pond (Messalonskee Lake). The site will contain six or more rinks, beer garden, fire pits and food vendors. It will offer seven divisions for players of different ages and ability levels. The Maine Pond Hockey Classic is an annual fundraising tournament supporting the Boys and Girls Clubs and YMCA of Greater Waterville. Registration is underway.
