Game notes: Coach Bob Walsh’s Black Bears are out to halt a four-game losing streak, facing a Rams ballclub that has rattled off eight consecutive victories. UMaine is coming off Sunday’s 91-60 setback at Boston College, which marked the seventh time this season the Black Bears have allowed 82 points or more. UMaine likely will not have the services of dynamic freshman forward Issac Vann, who was the leading scorer and rebounder prior to sustaining an ankle injury in the Nov. 25 win over Longwood. Fordham, a member of the Atlantic 10, last beat Coppin State 92-55 on Sunday. The Rams have held opponents to 58 points or less in four of the last six contests. Fordham ranks 36th in scoring defense (63.1 ppg) and 44th in scoring offense (82.7 ppg) while averaging 10 steals per game. The Rams are 8th nationally in 3-point percentage (.434). UMaine is going to need to lock down on defense, having let teams shot 48 percent against it. The Bears are shooting only 59 percent from the foul line.
