JEFFERSON, Maine — An Orono man working for a tree removal service was killed Wednesday afternoon when a tree limb fell and struck him.

Eliot Lamb, 22, died instantly, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office stated in a news release issued to several media outlets.

Lamb worked for Second Nature Tree Service of Whitefield. He and the company’s owner, Scott MacKenney, 42, were removing a large tree from a property on South Clary Road in Jefferson when the limb fell.

The Maine Department of Labor and the state medical examiner’s office will be investigating the death, according to police.
