LEBANON, Maine — A Vermont man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault after allegedly driving to a home in Lebanon on Christmas night and stabbing three members of the same family.
Police said Alton Britch, 44, of Wheelock, Vermont, drove to the home of his cousin, 58-year-old Beverly Duquette, and stabbed her husband, 54-year-old Randall Duquette, her daughter, 39-year-old Anna Malinowski and her grandson, 18-year-old Dominic Small. The three suffered injuries not considered life-threatening, according to a news release issued Saturday morning by the Maine State Police. They were taken to Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New Hampshire, for treatment.
Despite their injuries, the victims managed to hold Britch down until troopers arrived at the West Lebanon Road home late Christmas night to arrest him. Britch was taken to the York County Jail early Saturday morning. His bail has been set at $100,000, according to a jail official.
